Why I hate Tim Cook and the way Apple has changed

From Steve Jobs to Tim Cook

I am sure there are a lot of people who loved Apple when it was Steve Jobs who was the CEO. But now things has changed, the people once who loved Apple, find it so difficult to believe Apple would still be that Apple which stood for Perfection, elegance, aspirer, on and on. Yes, I am talking about the new CEO, Tim Cook, and I hated Apple since he took the reigns of the great valuable company that Steve Jobs created.

What I hate in Tim Cook

Since Tim Cook took over Apple, I could only start hating Apple.

Here are the few in short
  • iOS 6.3 cosmetic graphic changes: With the update of iOS 6.3, those amazing dial pad for the call feature was removed from blue to white dial pad. The Music app icon on the bottom changed from black to white.
  • Gay Look and feel of iOS 7 and 8 compared to how iOS 6 and previous versions looked: The next worst thing to happen was the iOS 7. Remember, Tim Cook is gay, and you know the colours gays like, pungent pink, lots of light colours, come on, Gay should be making some vanity bags or fashion dresses, not messing up with technology products, and that too, one of the best technology product in the world !. Tim Cook exactly did this, he allowed too many shitty colours into the OS and completely changed the look and feel of the OS in iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, than how awesome it used to be. And all i can feel with this shitty looking OS is like a Gay iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Its pathetic, to see how it has become. People used to Aspire to become like Apple, Android used to aspire at iOS and now it just got reversed, he made it look a lot like its cheaper version of iOS called Android. Is this called innovation ?. I am sure a lot of Apple lovers would agree to this, or at least there are many who are frustrated the way the iOS looks now and is heading for and don't find any enough blogs on the internet to read about and agree to. To end, till iOS 7 was released, its look and feel till iOS 6 was neutral, neither its was too manly, nor it was too feminine, but now the look and feel of iOS is too much gay type, which has now spread to the iPad, Mac and Apple TV as well, sadly !. It takes a lot of patience and work, to perfect something, and some people, just for the sake of change, do some dirty work, just to say people, something has changed, but that something is just too bad. Change should be for good, not for something that does not require change, or if the change is bad.
  • Removal of awesome skeuomorph: Apple's look and feel greatly differentiated from others widely due to its skeuomorphism, that awesome feel of notes flipping, that buttons that showed ON and OFF as real buttons, those call buttons, the Dock which rested its apps on a glass both in iOS and Apple Mavericks, the glass type close buttons in Older Mac versions, its all gone now! It looks like more like a shitty OS design created by some kids in school. He removed the Steel look of the trash icon to a plastic look, as if steel trash icon needs a lot of money to be paid for as if in real world. Thanks to Gay Tim Cook, he wanted it again make it awesome and adorable for Gays like him. We are not gays, come on, and don't try to make us gay with your shitty looking Graphical designs.
  • Removal of the google enabled Apple Maps: Till this moron came, Apple's maps were great, and as all of you know, people who use Apple Maps outside the US, it just doesn't work!, just completely against the Apple's trust that makes people feel that everything in Apple just works!. How can he be so stupid to allow such a drastic change and at least when you make such big blunders, why not accept and revert to how the Apple Map had worked earlier?. He has ego, remember, Steve Jobs, always acknowledged such mistakes and had rectified things as it should be. Tim did not
  • Release of cheap iPhone 5C for his gay addiction of colours: His addiction for gay colours dint stop with changing the look and feel of OS designs in iPhone, Mac and iPads, he went on to create colourful cheap plastic iPhones, and that never clicked and failed miserably for which the data of sales was never published for fear he would be caught for his misjudgement. I hated those plastic iPhones.
  • Release of USB C Macbook: If you go to Apple website and compare the latest released Macbook and Macbook Pro retina, both which costs $1299, I don't find a single reason why anyone would buy that Macbook with USBC instead of the Macbook Pro retina. Not even one single thing is great compared to Macbook Pro retina, and yet it sells at same price for a stripped off cheap device. I really don't have an answer to it in no means and I don't know who that buyers would be who would buy that. Here is a link if you would like to see it yourself and understand what I mean. Comparison of Macbook USB C and Macbook Pro Retina . I can only laugh by this. You may watch the last two videos, it's so funny on how genuinely they mocked Apple for the downfalls.
  • Release of Apple Watch: Tim had to release at least one product, and that was Apple watch. I don't see anything in that watch that it cannot be done in a Phone, and yet it needs a Apple Phone and runs only for a day. So, Apple is moving away from being an innovator to, mere sellers of metal and leather or some sort of Jewellery company. I can only laugh by this and I feel that a lot of straps and watch models will remain under dust in its stores and warehouses for sure, leading to decline in its profits.
  • Release of a series of bugs in all versions OS. Steve always used to say, "It (Apple) just works !" and Apple has forgotten it: With the release of iOS 7, all users of iPhone 4 and 4 S had slowness while launching games or calling or be it anything. Then with the release of iOS 8, people could not make calls, how stupid and arrogant such updates can be ? He did the same with Yosemite, people had several issues faced on their Macs. So the question is, can we still trust the reliability of Apple systems as it once used to be ?

Final Note

I agree, Apple's share has risen up on account of the new Big Screen iPhone sales. All of Apple users wanted a larger screen, and that was the only gap the iPhone line up was missing and it was so delayed and thats the only reason a lot of users bought the new iPhone, though they hate the look and feel of the new OS. This is not innovation and neither it will sustain on a longer run. This alone skyrocketed the Apples profits and I am sure, Apple is going to decline under Tim, before its too late for Tim Cook to quit and replace him with someone who envisioned future like Steve Jobs, who stood against other peoples view that he would fail or he was wrong, and proved it like how Apple rose from near bankruptcy to the most valuable company in the world.

  1. Yes! I was thinking exactly about the same things you wrote about. Tim Cook has ruined Apple. I don't like their new products because they look terrible! Apple used to be a cool company. Now it's just gay and lame.

  2. Thanks Jurgis!

We loved Apple, Steve left me a hope, a great message, that if we want the world to be in a certain way, and may be its only me who can CHANGE those things I want it to be changed, then I have to pursue and CHANGE things. I realized at a point of time that, I loved to cook food, and I knew most restaurant were out there to just make money, so I started a restaurant which serves delicious food, with no artificial colors, replacing chilli powders with paprika so that it can be good to the digestion not burning in and broke the myth that good food can never survive in making profits. Today, when I see cars, i get the feel that how shitty the car designs are, why only German mercedes and very few luxury cars can only make great designs ? why not all cheap and luxurious cars have great aesthetic designs, and I just think that I myself need to make those changes. Why we cant build another great revolutionary Phone again? Yes we can, just that the thinker himself has to set his foot and make those changes. And when you learn that how people life has changed for good the way you wanted, the amount of self satisfaction the person gets is the greatest reward of your life to say you have done what you loved to do. I hope everyone who wants to see change, pushes that change and I am sure, we will see change happening. RIP the Hippy, the innovator, the aspirer in Apple.

  3. I wanted to comment, because this was the only article that expressed my frustration.

I have been using Apple products since the 90s, and my longest lasting machine was the PowerBook titanium G4 and it lasted me 10 years. It died only because my Chihuahua urinated on it.

I was one of the first people in line in 2007 to get the iPhone. I got each subsequent upgrade by selling my previous one. I bought an Apple TV. I had an apple ecosystem in my house, all under Steve Jobs. Besides the AirPort Extreme occasionally going on the fritz, everything just worked.

But I have become increasingly frustrated and angry with the performance of devices created under Tim Cook.

Tim Cook's Apple is becoming more like a PC failure. The devices just do not work.

This Christmas I purchased an Apple Watch (which I do not see the point of because it is useless without the iPhone), an AppleTV fourth generation – and was extremely disappointed.

The Apple TV was pretty nice in that I could wave my iPhone nearby it and it would download all of the Wi-Fi information so I did not have to input it myself. But when it came to the actual use of the device, it is a big failure. The device allows you to download apps, which of course I did. I downloaded video apps and a couple of games. The video apps stuttered, buffered, and froze frequently. The game apps tended to freeze inexplicably. After owning it for a week, I had to return it because I did not see it fitting well into my ecosystem.

I may just have to buy an Apple TV second-generation like I had before.

As it is, I believe Tim Cook's Apple is going the way of the PC. It just does not work.

    1. Hi Sanari, its true that even i faced the same, so thought of writing up this blog. Its sooner going to be true. Apple needs a visionary and spectacular orator who could deliver keynotes on what they dreamed of and came up with...!
